Be the Teammate Who Lifts the Room

In every gym and on every team, there is something more powerful than skill, talent, or technique. That power is attitude. A team is only as strong as the energy it brings into the room. One person’s mindset, good or bad, influences everyone. That is why being a good teammate matters just as much as hitting your stunt or landing your tumbling pass.
Right now, we are learning something bigger than cheer. We are learning how to show up for each other.
When one athlete comes in focused, driven, and positive, it spreads. The room lifts. Confidence grows. The work feels easier because the mindset is strong.
But when one athlete shuts down, complains, cries, or checks out mentally, that spreads too. The room drops. Motivation fades. The team lowers itself to the level of the weakest effort in the room.
And that is not who we are. We are LIBERTY.
Everyone Is Working Hard
No one on this team has it easy. Every athlete is tired. Every athlete has sore muscles. Every athlete has days that feel heavy. So do not feel sorry for yourself. You are not alone in the hard work.
If you are not giving the same effort as your teammates, then you are holding the team back. And that is not fair to the athletes who are giving one hundred percent. A team is only as strong as its weakest link.
Right now is where mental toughness matters.
Mental Toughness Is a Choice
Being mentally tough does not mean you never struggle. It means you choose to keep going even when the work feels hard. Even when you are frustrated. Even when your body is tired.
It means you choose to respond with effort instead of emotion.
It means you choose to stay coachable instead of defensive.
It means you choose to keep trying instead of shutting down.
How you act matters.
How you respond to coaches matters.
How you treat your teammates matters.
The team cannot rise if even one person chooses to quit mentally.
Respect Matters
Your coaches are here because they believe in you. They are coaching with intention to help you grow into strong, confident, capable athletes. They are investing their energy because they see something in you that matters.
We are not here to tear you down.
We are here to build you up.
We will not tolerate disrespect, eye-rolling, complaining, or bringing the room down with attitude. That is not leadership. That is not who we are training you to become.
This Part Is Hard on Purpose
We are putting together a two minute and thirty second routine that requires strength, stamina, focus, and teamwork. It is exhausting. It is emotional. It is physically and mentally challenging. But that is what makes it special.
You are capable of this.
We believe in you.
You need to believe in yourself and your team.
Choose Who You Want to Be
You get to choose the role you play every day you walk into this gym.
Do you lift the room or lower it?
Do you show effort or excuses?
Do you lead or follow negativity?
Do you build the team or weigh it down?
Answer these 4 questions in your head and make a change if needed now.
Choose effort.
Choose resilience.
Choose accountability.
Choose kindness.
Choose to put the team first. Not yourself.
Choose to be the person your teammates are proud to stand beside.
Because when every athlete chooses that together, that is when champions are made. And we believe in you. Let's do this together.
