Competition Backpack Must-Haves & What to Wear on Competition Day

Competition weekends are some of the most exciting moments of the season—and being prepared makes everything smoother, calmer, and more focused. Here’s your ultimate packing list AND what to wear rules to make sure every athlete looks sharp, feels confident, and represents Liberty with pride!

✅ What to Pack in Your Competition Backpack:

WATER – Stay hydrated! Label your bottle.
SNACKS – Easy, clean options like granola bars, fruit snacks, or crackers.
HAIR TIES & BOBBY PINS – Pack plenty!
HAIRSPRAY & BRUSH – For quick touch-ups before you hit the floor.
MAKEUP – Bring your personal competition makeup for reapplying.
APPROVED LIPSTICK & GLITTER – We’ll provide exactly what’s needed! Approved items will be available for purchase at the gym (pictures and product info coming soon).
MAKEUP WIPES – Great for cleanups or makeup fixes.
BAND-AIDS – For any unexpected scrapes or blisters.
DEODORANT – A must.
TIDE PEN or STAIN WIPES – Handy for spills.

👕 What to WEAR to and from the Competition:

We represent Liberty Cheer All-Stars from the minute we walk into the venue to the moment we leave. That means we’re dressed professionally, respectfully, and as a team.

✅ Approved Competition Day Attire:

• Liberty warm-up pants (from this year or last)

• Liberty warm-up jacket (this season or last season)

• Liberty sweatshirt, jacket, or t-shirt over your uniform

• Black sweatpants are also fine if you don’t have warm-up pants

• Cheer shoes MUST be worn to and from the competition

🚫 Not Allowed:

• Pajama bottoms or pajamas of any kind

• House shoes, uggs, crocs, slippers, or slides

• Exposed stomachs while walking around the venue

Athletes should never show up in pajamas or lounge clothes—this is a professional event, and our team should look clean, unified, and competition-ready at all times. Please make sure your athlete has Liberty apparel to cover up their uniform in between performances or while walking through the venue.
